Wanta Fanta?

The objective of this project was to shoot a product shot for any brand of our choice. The brand I chose to shoot for was Fanta, one of my girlfriend’s favorite sodas. Her blue nails complemented the orange drink nicely and also tied in to the brand colors.

Kissed By The Sun

The objective of this project was to do a portrait series on any subject of our choice. My beautiful girlfriend was kind enough to let me shoot photos of her on a hot and sunny day in Downtown Pomona. I tried to emulate the style of fashion photographers in this series by utilizing dynamic poses and dramatic lighting.

Drive Thru

The objective of this project was to do a series on any topic of our choice. At the time of this project, COVID was still relatively new and this term “essential workers” was going around. The big question back then was “Who exactly is an essential worker?”. Everyone thought of doctors, nurses, teachers, but no one thought of the fast food workers who were also risking their lives, coming into contact with hundreds of people in the drive thru everyday. As a former fast food worker, I truly empathized with them because I knew how difficult it could be working in the service industry.

Stacks

The objective of this project was to shoot photos of any food of our choice. I decided to shoot pancakes with the goal of making a very high exaggerated stack. I also wanted to capture the maple syrup cascading down on the knob of butter at the top and then down onto the stack. Another goal was to make viewers able to imagine the smell of pancakes and maple syrup just by looking at this photo.

The Worm

The objective of this project was to shoot a self portrait. I drew inspiration from an iconic photo of Michael Jordan with the ball suspended in front of his face just like this. I decided to wear a Dennis Rodman jersey instead of a Michael Jordan jersey because I wanted to pay homage to one of the most under appreciated basketball players of all time. I also admire Rodman not only for the way he played basketball, but because of his influence in fashion as well. Rodman’s nickname was “The Worm” and that was where I got the name for this project.
